First Day of Preschool

And last. I signed Stella up for preschool when we moved here thinking she would be potty-trained in time. I was wrong. Her teacher said I could bring her once to try to get her excited about it and motivated to get trained. When I picked her up she told me how much fun she had. As soon as we walked in the door I told her to sit on the potty. She refused. I said, "Well, then you can't go to preschool." She said, "I don't want to go to preschool." We have used all sorts of bribes and rewards. Nothing keeps her interested. I'm going to try candy rewards. Wish me luck (and patience).

She is three and has an HSM back pack. I let her pick this one out hoping that she would continue to want it as badly as she did in the store and, thus, be motivated to poop on the potty. She still hasn't earned the bag. This was a one-time loan.

Good luck! I'm thinking she'll realize you mean business soon when she REALLY doesn't get to go to preschool again...Oh - the joys of potty training. I'm not looking forward to it.

Shayne is trying to get me to potty train Maggie. I'm all about waiting until they are good and ready. With all my others they were close to 3 and understood that peeing and pooing on the floor was definitely not okay.... so they went around naked for a few days, and then we were done. I found even wearing panties was enough "down there" that they would still have accidents, not so going commando. Good luck.

She is so adorable.
We also tried commando style like Daisy. Thumbs up to that Method. Good luck!

Don't worry- Annie hasn't given up on her yet. Everyday we go to preschool she asks, "Is Stella coming today?"

I had tons of trouble training Rosie as well...Tony's g-ma gave the best advice. Let her pick out panties...For her is was silkie panties...Kyla was all about princess panties.. Maybe you can find HSM panties...They might be big but hey a sewing machine can fix that! Good Luck!

Uhg. Potty training.
Jimmy and I have worked on it a bit. He got to pick out new underwear. He was excited for the first day and 1/2. It's a full time job, and I just can't handle it yet. I'm sure he'll be potty trained by the time he goes to Kindergarten (I hope).

Oh...p.s. I have a 8 year old niece and 10 year old nephew who still have bathroom issues...I'm hoping that won't happen to you.

Stella reminds me so much of you! Everything you ever did had to be your idea. I tried to "Lead you, guide you, walk beside you", but I couldn't keep up. Luckily you always made good decisions. You decided at 2 1/2 yrs to be potty trained. I have no suggestions on what you can do! Good luck! Mom

kate, candy bribes worked for lincoln, as well as aiming for cheerios when he peed. (could that work for a girl?) we just kept a little bowl of cheerios by the toilet, if he got them wet enough they sank. as far as the poop-- in the end i got angry. not the best tactic, but since it happens about once a month, he actually listened. good luck!
