Hidden Talent

Stella is really good at throwing up. She never cries. It doesn’t bother her at all. It never has. She’ll just come down to our room in the middle of the night and say, “Mom, I threw up.” She doesn’t even need a drink afterwards. She’d make a great bulimic. You know, if it wasn’t a deadly disease. She threw up five times yesterday: bed, bowl, toilet, carpet, carseat.
Chloe had to take a snack to school and our cupboards were bare. So I HAD to go to the grocery store. When we pulled into the parking lot Stella told me she thought she might throw up in the store. I had no choice. We risked it and I considered it a success that we made it out without an accident. It wasn't long before I realized that throwing up in the store would have been a good thing. I could have left it up to them to take care of the mess.

She’s only frowning because I’m taking her picture. She sat like that for ten minutes on the way home. I guess she doesn’t chew her noodles. Those little suckers slithered their way into the depths of the carseat. I had to take it apart to clean it.

Want to hear more about throw up? Ok. This is what Fred slept in:

I heard him crying last night at 12:30. I let him cry for a few minutes to see if he would go back to sleep. Then I got up and got some milk but then he was quiet so I put the milk back in the fridge and went to bed. The worst part is that he had eaten a chili cheese dog for dinner. Dan bought these sausages that are chili-cheese flavored. We were out of groceries so I fed one to Fred. I don’t know how he was able to sleep with that stench.

They are fine. They haven’t acted sick at all. I, on the other hand, am very sick of cleaning up throw up.

I am so sorry... I know what you mean about the clean up- I just finished cleaning Annie's carpet for the second time in 4 days. Super fun.
I hope they feel better soon.

Gross. Sal's pretty good too. I let her cry herself to sleep and found her in alarming amounts of throw-up later on in the night. We had to give her a bath to get all the chunks out of her hair.

My mom says you can always tell who the mother is because she tries to catch the throw up. I guess it's one of the joys of motherhood.

i've caught worse than throw up in my bare hands. (I was saving my clothes and the car interior.)

The joys of motherhood! I was so relieved when Enoch could finally carry around the throw-up bucket with him. Hope things get better!

Yeah, that's pretty sick. I'd take crap over throw up any day. I hope you don't start puking.

Oh, I'm dry heaving just reading your post. I'm not good with the vomit.

Caleb once threw up on Rachel in the car, at the beginning of a 10 hour drive from Oregon.

Good times, good times...

I think that this post will make me check on Taylar every time she wakes up crying at night now. I'm so with ya on the car puke. Rosie is a car sick kid. We avoid driving in the morning because it is always worse first thing in the am. We can usually catch it though. It is usually Warned with "I'M hot". Thank heavens for that!

Ugh, what a day! I hope you have a strong stomach and weren't compelled to add to the load. I love Kate's comment too, I have done that in a store, and of course you can't catch it all. Then you are left there with a hand full of puke and a mess to clean up on the floor. Lucky for me my kids hate throwing up, so they are always crying before they do it.

Pictures? Really?
yuck.
I feel your pain. We haven't had the throwing up here for a while. Actually the kids all had the barfs while James and I were in New Zealand, so I missed it. Darn. Thanks to my mom for that one.
