Bike Shop

Dan worked in a bike shop through his teen years.  He has always liked bikes and dreamed of owning his own shop.  Well, it is finally happening.  He and a couple of friends are the new owners of SBR Sports in Orem, UT.  No, we are not moving down there.  We are not planning on making a living off the shop.  We are hoping to survive the first year and then have it support Kyle (he’s the one that will be running the store) and Angela.  One day we hope to make some money off it.

We would love to hook you all up but it is a small business in a bad economy.  If you are reading this then you are probably a friend or relative.  We will happily give you a discount.  But please don’t ask us to give your brother a deal.  Unless he has cancer and his house burned down or some other deserving reason.  In fact, if you have a healthy bank account maybe you can offer to pay more.  Just to help us out :).

We have spend the last two weekends down there clearing out all the junk and repainting.  There is still a lot of work to do and we hope to have a spiffy shop soon.  Little by little.  If you have any skillz let us know and maybe we can work out a trade.  Anyone know how to drywall a ceiling?  Electrical?  (Nate?).

Address Katie. What is the address? Good luck with the shop. (p.s. I grew up in Orem and always thought state street was ugly. It really looks more so on video. Except your shop, that looks great!)

state street is ugly. and so is the shop. no curb appeal. we'll do our best with what we've got.

danika, if we need a beam installed we'll let chia know. really, though, give us a bid for the ceiling.

dude this is why dan's rad - he stops doing what he doesn't like doing and he does what he likes doing. 99% of everyone wishes they could do that but few people do, including me. so great, congrats. p.s. i thought dan said you were moving down but now you're not? what's the word!?

That's awesome. It's always scary to take a risk like that, but I'm sure you guys will do great. If I lived in Orem, I'd totally shop there and I wouldn't expect anything free or even a discount. I've worked with small business owners for the last decade and know how difficult it can be. Good luck!

Awesome. That was the first place I (Kim) got my mountain bike tuned up. I looked there for my first road bike (/tri bike) too. I think of most bike shops as holes in the walls (except in Park City) but I didn't think this one was bad. Good luck!

it is kind of a hole but we are slowly re-vamping it.
