I better write this down before I forget.
In our church we fast the first Sunday of every month and instead of our usual meeting we have a testimony meeting. Anyone in the congregation can go up to the pulpit and share their testimony of the gospel--what they believe is true. A couple of months ago Chloe whispered to Dan that she wanted to go up. I was a little hesitant to let her because I don't think a parent whispering to their kid what to say is considered a testimony. I would have liked to coach her a bit. But there wasn't time to protest and off they went. Dan went up on stage with her but not to the microphone. I was afraid she would freeze up and look back to him for help. But she didn't. She spoke clearly and calmly. She said, "I'm thankful for Jesus. I'm thankful for my family. I'm thankful for the temple. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen." I was very impressed. I didn't share my testimony in sacrament meeting until I was in college. I was way too shy when I was a kid. So when she sat back down by me, I told her that she did a good job and asked her why she decided to go up.
"I like talking in the microphone."
"Uh, I think you are supposed to do it because you love Jesus."
"And because I love Jesus."

Chloe is such a cutie! I miss her.
She sounds like the perfect candidate for speaking in General Conference.
That reminds me of ME when I was her age. I used to go up every fast Sunday until I was 10 or 11. I can't believe she got up there by herself!
Oh and Annie was practicing a roundhouse kick on Kate. Brock asked her where she learned that- she said Chloe & Stella. So thanks for the ultimate fighting sleepover. She LOVED it!
Kudos to Chloe for being honest! Morgan loves talking in the microphone too. She gives "talks" every Sunday after primary while I tidy up the primary room. Hopefully they will always be that uninhibited!
Kyla made me take her up recently and she would only go if I took her. I Finally decided to allow it since I don't want her to be afraid and She said everything I did. Not quite as good as Chloe but I think that is our kids way of making our decisions to go up ourselves for us!
Too sweet. I think that you should foster those types of characteristics so that when they get bigger, it's no big deal to publicly speak. It's something I wish I were better at!
